I.M. Pei Foundation Collaborates with three-DGS to Explore Property Potential Through 3D Technology.

The I.M. Pei Foundation has engaged Skylandx using 3DGS technology, a three-dimensional scanning company, to explore how digital models can support renovation planning and interior design.

Skylandx can fast scan a home inside and out in thirty to sixty minutes and produce accurate CAD drawings and 3D models. The goal is to help buyers and owners test renovation options and likely costs before commissioning detailed architectural work or committing to a purchase. It also allows remote access for designers to design and place interior pieces from all over the world.

The Foundation believes this approach could lower upfront architectural costs, reduce financial risk, and help people make more informed investment decisions through earlier insight into a property’s design potential, therefore help to preserve vintage houses rather than tearing down to lower carbon footprints.
